Amputations

The amounts set out below, are only average likely awards, and may be a lot more or less, depending on the individual injury and personal circumstances of the claimant eg a professional violinist who has a finger amputated will receive more than say a rugby player with the same injury. On the other hand, the rugby player will receive more for an amputated arm or leg than the violinist will receive for the same amputation

As a rough guideline:

- leg amputation R100 000 to R250 000

- arm amputation R80 000 to R200 000
