How much time do I have to put a claim in?

Answer
Essentially 3 years from the date of accident, or date of death of the breadwinner in loss of support claims. Childrens claims lapse after the expiry of 3 years after they have turned 21, nomatter whether the accident happened many years ago or not! In third party claims, where the accident was a "hit and run" and the identity of the owner or driver of the negligent vehicle is unknown, the claim lapses within 2 years.
